I get the question "Where does the Hill Country Wine Trail start?" from our guests all the time. My answer is here at Biscuit Hill Bed and Breakfast of course. We have 3 vineyards, and 6 wineries all within a 15 mile drive. But it really doesn't matter where you want to start your tasting journey. We have the official wine trail map at the Bed and Breakfast so you can plan what route that best suites your needs. Don't forget that October is Wine Trail Month, and most of the wineries are hosting special events. You can go to the official Hill Country Wine Trail website for all the details. http://www.texaswinetrail.com/

New Facebook fun for Biscuit Hill B&B Guests. Everything at the B&B is just "Ducky". But as long as they hold out, all rooms will come with a Yellow Rubber Ducky that guests can take with them as they enjoy the Texas Hill Country during their stay. If guests take a picture with their duck in their favorite places while they are guests, and post them on Facebook (their page & ours), they will get $10 off every night of their next visit. Make sure our logo is showing in the picture or mention our name along with where you took the picture. Let's all get just "Ducky"!

Summer fun is all around us here in the Texas Hill Country. Besides all there is to do, the crop of new hill country fawns is growing. You can view them up close here at Biscuit Hill B&B. Baby fawns are being born everyday around here, so you can just step outside your room and walk to the feeding area to possibly catch a glimpse of one. Also many of the Texas Hill Country Wineries are hosting special events, Canyon Lake is beautiful as always, and ready to host your 2013 Summer water activity. Comal Park is only 5 miles from Biscuit Hill. It has beaches, picnic tables, and public facilities. Biscuit Hill does have parking for a boat or jet skies, and the nearest boat ramp is only a little over 1 mile from the Inn. Tried to get a fawn pic up but Blogger is not letting me, I'll try again later. Sorry for the delay! Still not able to get the new fawn picture up so I am posting this on our Facebook Page with the post reading New Fawns at Biscuit Hill Bed & Breakfast.

Due to the warm weather lately, many of the trees, bushes, and other plants are blooming early this year. Gruene is also budding out with many special events during March. You can see our Events calendar here http://www.biscuithill.com/activitiesandevents.htm Our very fragrant Mountain Laural here at Biscuit Hill, and the Lady Banks Rose vine should be blooming the first couple of weeks in March.
Before I close I want to mention that we are celebrating Texas Independence day the 1st weekend in March by offering our guests a souvenir Biscuit Hill wine glass with each reservation for that weekend. When you book online just ask for our Texas Independence Gift. It will not be given automatically. Kind of a bonus for you reading my blog ;-)
